A day in the life of a Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer for our Delivery department, you are responsible for the implementation of various IT projects. Consider, for example, building a Windows Virtual Desktop, Modern Workplace and Azure cloud environments, mail and data migrations, storage solutions or other innovative IT projects. You don’t turn your hand around for a complex project in which several techniques emerge. During a project you are concerned with the functional design, the technical aspect and the workability for the customer.

In collaboration with the Project Manager, you ensure that the customer does not experience any disruption in the business processes during the implementation and delivery, and you provide support on location (if necessary) after the go-live. For smaller projects you are the project manager yourself and you are in close contact with the customer. Thanks to your knowledge and daily work, you know better than anyone where and how standardizations and improvements can be made and you take the initiative in this. In addition, you provide technical advice regarding the most effective and efficient use of the IT infrastructure. In addition to the implementation of projects, you act as a source of information for colleagues with your knowledge. Many activities are carried out remotely, but you will certainly also visit customers on location. A standby service is part of this function.

What do we expect from you?

MBO+/HBO working and thinking level
Knowledge of Windows platforms, virtualization, storage, Office 365 and network;
Being aware of the latest Microsoft techniques and in possession of Microsoft certificates or willing to obtain them in the short term;
Knowledge and experience with Azure is a plus;
Living on Aruba;
Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing, Papiamento is a plus;
You are hands-on, orderly and energetic;
You have a high sense of responsibility and are able to work independently, so you are able to fully unburden the customer.
